Spanish American Revolutions: Latin America is said to have been inspired by the American, Haitian, and French revolutions which occurred in the 1700s and 1800s to revolt against the colonial rulers. Spain and Portugal had colonized Latin America in the late 1700s. Creoles are the whites who were born in Latin America and claimed to be the upperclassmen of Latin America. The Creoles inspired by the American Revolution started wanting independence from Spain and Portugal. Their stride for independence failed since the movement was for the most part only for the creoles and not the rest of the populous.
